Local Cure is a good name - it was just what the doctor ordered.
Dont get me wrong... I love European food but I was a bit over schnitzel and wurst, pizza and pasta, and even all of the usual Christmas market food.
The Bacon and Bleu burger put me in a happy place, with a nice salty start chased with a quality pungent gorgonzola. The steak fries with garlic mayo were a perfect compliment.
Paired with an Augustiner Helles, and then I settled it with a nice Redbreast 12.

The food was absolutely delicious as were the drinks. My husband and I really enjoyed the resturant. The staff was very friendly.

I had high expectations when I went to The Local Cure. Many of the locals that I spoke with raved about this pub. Then my good buddy Walter suggested I hit this place. I drove 5 hours in a storm from Wiesbaden to hit up this spot. Was I ever in for a treat.
As I arrived, I was greeted by an older Bavarian couple speaking some type of German that I could not understand. We just stared confusedly at each other and started laughing. Haha!! I was surprised by the diversity of the menu. I ordered a cheese burger and a Hard cider. That was the best burger I have ever had. The high quality of the meat and cheese, even the pickle was insanely delicious. A perfect medium-well presentation. There was a nice beer selection too. I live in San Diego, California which is a craft beer city and I was impressed with The Local Cure's roster.
What impressed me most about The Local Cure is the owner, Trevor. What a fantastic gentleman this guy is. Sometimes you can just look at a person and tell that they have a heart of gold. That's this guy! He's such a genuine guy, and cares about the food he makes and the interactions that take place in his bar. It seemed to be a mixture of locals and Americans, about 60:40 respectively. I'm so glad this place was suggested. I am not lying when I tell you this... it was worth every square centimeter of the 5 hr drive.
Trevor is such a genuinely cool individual, and puts his soul into his food and customers. Not only do I recommended The Local Cure, I'm going to suggest to all of my friends that go to Europe to visit this Iconic Pub. 5-stars all the way!!!
My first time here, even though I've been to Garmisch many times. Kind of small place, but the atmosphere and ambience is very good. The music they played was mainly from the 1970s-1990s, and even some Irish music. I arrived at around 1800 and it wasn't that busy. As the time went on, more people came in and it was packed. That tells me that it is a popular place and the staff are good. I found that to be true. The food was delicious and quick. I would definitely recommend to anyone that wants good food and a nice place to hang out. I will come back again the next time I'm in Garmisch.
The Cure is so good!! It's small with a warm and familiar atmosphere that is reinforced by the delicious food. The constant buzz of laughter, clink of glasses, aromatic steams, and neighborly nature create an ambience that is only rivaled by the burgers and their garlic aioli sauce. If you're looking for a place where German and American culture collide, find it at this Irish themed pub. The Gamma burger, The spicy cheddar bacon jalapeño burger, and the chicken nachos are my personal faves. Bless up your life
My local in Garmisch. Owned by a beautiful woman named Sarah who works her ass off and keeps the customers happy. She does a much better job than the previous owner. Her staff are friendly, too. It's a good place to hang out and enjoy adult beverages.
Happy hour prices are good. Lots of English-speaking customers. Good place to get lubricated with locals and travelers.
Cool bar in this little village.. I liked the atmosphere! And their whisky :)
It looked like a place that gets crowded in winter. Plenty of people when I was there too.

Found this place on TripAdvisor when looking for a place to eat after a day spent atop Zugsplitze. What a perfect way to end a spectacular day on the glacier! The service was great and the food was even better. My wife had a veggie burger and said it was the best she ever had. Coming from a vegetarian Vermonter, that's high praise :) I loved my burger too and wish we could go back, but alas, our travels move us onward! It's a pub, and the energy is enthusiastic, but the servers work their butts off, are as generous with their pours as they are with their smiles, and the food is scrumdilicious!
Where all the Americans hang out. It was a nice break from German food, the food and cider and scotch were great. Both burgers we ordered were really good and the warm chocolate cake was yummy. Our waitress was awesome. Would go again if we had more nights here.
Discovered this place when spending six days in Garmisch with my wife. Must agree with the other reviewers, nice little Irish pub. Great selection of whiskey, and all your favorites on tap. We didn't eat there but the burgers looked good. Bennett, Dre, Fonse, Trevor, and Alice were all first rate as well. We will definitely be back.

good Irish pub, English spoken, lots of foreigners, some locals. Food is good, atmosphere is nice, quite crowded. Is a bit far from Garmisch's city center (almost 1 mile), but worth a visit.
Great little slice of American food in the middle of Bavaria. Burgers were juicy and fries were crispy. Both English and German spoken.
Super friendly place. Both English and German accommodating. Waitstaff was really easy to get along with and gave us some great advice about skiing. Easily walkable from Edelweiss, but a little away from the rest of the city. Wings tasted like heaven, and the best happy hour in Garmisch - 5-7, and pretty sure the beers were free (ok, 2.50 EUR, but I think that qualifies).
One of the only good bars if not the only one within walking distance of the edelweiss lodge. If you are looking for a bar to chill after a day on the mountain you could do much worse b

So leckere Burger! Der Service ist der Hammer - unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Immerwieder gern.
Trotz Küchenschluss habe ich noch ein paar Nachos bekommen, welche Mega gut waren. Vorallem die selbstgemachte Salsa war sehr lecker...😊 Preise sind vergleichsweise günstig und die Bar ist nur zu empfehlen! Dickes Lob!!

Wenn mann burger essen will, ist das der richtige Platz in Garmisch. Der beste in der Stadt. Burger, Fries und Dip für 10€ ist unschlagbar, plus die nette Bedienung und super Atmosphäre mit geiler Musik macht alles noch viel besser. Rock on Local Cure 🤟
